Product Details

An icon of 20th century design, the "Smokny" model ball ashtray, produced in the 1970s by the prestigious German manufacturer F.W. Quist. This object takes up the rationalist lines of Marianne Brandt's famous project (1924) for the Bauhaus metal workshop, updating them with the Space Age aesthetic typical of the Seventies. It is an essential collector's item for those who love modern art. The hemispherical lid rotates on a central pin; by pressing lightly, the ash falls inside the globe, sealing out odors and smoke. Metal sphere with high quality matt black lacquered finish and movable cap in shiny chromed metal. The ashtray is in excellent vintage condition. The black lacquer is intact and deep, the chrome is brilliant and the tilting mechanism is fluid and perfectly centred. Measurements: Height 12 cm - Diameter 10 cm
