This object is not a simple turntable, but a true icon of Italian industrial design: it is the GA 45 Pop portable record player, designed by architect Mario Bellini in 1968. Produced in Italy by Minerva of Milan, it is considered a masterpiece of Space Age style and 1960s pop design. It is part of the permanent collection of important museums such as the MoMA in New York and the Musée d'Art Moderne in Saint-Étienne. It is an automatic turntable designed exclusively for 45 rpm vinyl records. It typically runs on two flat batteries, in perfect working order!
